Miss Arlene was the first cria born on our new farm and she holds her own against virtually every gal in the barn. She has a staple length among the longest on our farm - a full 6" to 8". She has good crimp and her density is above average - and why not - she's out of one of the Ideal Alpaca Studmasters: MFI Glacial Storm - the well known son of PPPeruvian Augusto and who died last summer (2009). She has proven herself to be an attentive mother and her first cria, when bred to Snowmass Nova's Taboo, was a very nice medium brown male. His crimp, brightness and density all are markedly improved and we were so impressed with what the Snowmass program is bringing to our breeding program that we have bred Miss Arlene to Snowmass Legacy's Charmer, Snowmass Millennium's full brother. In addition, while her cria isn't looking like he will make our stud row, he has all the makings of a farm visitor greeter as he runs to us to investigate whenever we are in the pen! Arlene is the type of high-end production female that can throw color when bred to color and will undoubtedly produce white when bred to white. Any discerning huacaya breeder would be well served to have Arlene in their paddock!
