From time to time we participate in or hold special events to showcase our animals or fiber products. Check here often because this is where we announce our plans and share the details of each event. KNITTING NEWS
We are excited to be working with Daniela Anderson, a dedicated Fiber Artist, who has been knitting since the age of four. Currently an avid knitter, hand spinner, quilter and dyer, she crafts using wool from her Angora Bunnies, Alpaca, Cashmere Goats or Sheep.
Daniela has organzied and run Fine Arts and Fiber Arts programs for groups of all ages and has lectured at The Manning's Annual Spinning Day. She is also a frequent handspinning/knitting/fiber arts demonstrator and teacher at various historical venues, schools, camps for children and fiber events in and around Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
Daniela is excited to pass on her love of knitting, hand spinning, dyeing and all of the fiber arts to anyone wanting to learn. Whether the student has never picked up a pair of needles or is creating an intricate piece at a higher skill level, but needs assistance or direction, Daniela is able to help. Knitting Classes
Our knitting classes, taught by Daniela, have begun with two scheduled days coming up.
Beginner knitters wanting to learn how to cast on, knit stitch and pearl stitch can sign up for either;
Thursday 1st December, 10-1pm, or
Saturday 3rd December, 9-12 noon
$35 includes yarn, needles and instruction
More excperienced knitters may drop in Saturday afternoon anytime 1-4pm. Price is $5 per person
